Back to when I read my poems that were published in ‘Oiwi: A Native Hawaiian Journal for the beautiful people at Native Books and Beautiful Things in Honolulu. I was extra happy that day because even though my husband couldn’t be present, my Mom, my kids, my older sister, my youngest brother, and our cousins were there to support me.
When I look back at this picture, I feel so blessed and humbled that they all chose to be a part of my day.
