Just an old 100-word story I dug up for you know, Throw Back Thursday.
As for hurricane Iselle?
Still waiting for her to come. I say her because, well someone shared this picture on facebook.

To us Kanaka Maoli (Aboriginal Hawaiians) and people in Hawaii who know the old legends, it looks like Namakaokaha’i– Pele’s sister & fierce enemy. See her eyes, nose, mouth, hair, lei po’o (head lei?) Maybe this morning’s earthquake was Pele getting ready to rumble with her sis.
Right now, we are stocked, prepared, and ready to uh, stay. No rain yet, minimum gusts, no floods where I am but I can’t say the same for the people on the other side of the island who are experiencing all of the above with force– plus falling trees and power lines, loss of electricity and Internet (yikes!), and closed roads.
Praying for the safety of all who live in our islands, as well as those who are in the paths of Typhoon Halong and Typhoon Genvieve. I hope those who need to seek shelter find it, and that all of the land animals who don’t have human homes find warm, secure places to hide.
