I’ve been absent for a few days, I know. But I have a valid excuse. We’ve been preparing for this:

Hurricane Iselle and Hurricane Julio. The rare double trouble storms coming our way.
Iselle is a category 1 right now and it’s headed straight at us, which means it will hit us on the Big Island first and then hopefully weaken into a tropical storm as it goes over Maui, Moloka’i, Lana’i, Kaho’olawe, O’ahu, Kaua’i and Ni’ihau.

Julio (a category 2 hurricane) is supposed to make its way to us by this weekend. I’m not sure exactly when, and not sure if our power or Internet will be down after tonight but we’ll be ready for something.
Hawai’i’s last hurricane was ‘Iniki (a category 4) in 1992 and before that one was hurricane ‘Iwa (a category 1) in 1982. I was a kid during both of them, and both were scary.
And if that’s not bad enough:

Yep. It’s going to be a lovely day here in Hawai’i Nei.
I’m going to try and post some kind of writing thing today because I might not be on for a while. Just wanted to let you know what’s the haps, what da scoops. (What’s going on.)
